National Press Club to dedicate award in honour of slain journo

The National Press Club will dedicate an award in honour of slain journalist Sibusiso ‘Aserie’ Ndlovu.

The renowned broadcaster and founder of Capital Live radio station in Pretoria together with his partner Zodwa Mdhluli have been laid to rest in Mpumalanga.

They were murdered and their bodies dumped in a veld in Rust de Winter in Limpopo. Their remains were only found last month, four months after they were reported missing.

Elijah Mhlanga from the African Media and Communicators Forum says they will be establishing a bursary in Ndlovu’s name to keep his legacy alive.

“Press Club is going to start and award a community journalism award which will be part of the annual ceremony. From our side as the African Media and Communicators Forum, we are going to be running a bursary for someone who is going to be studying media. We will see how that is going to unfold. We need something in his name to use to keep his legacy alive.”
