North-West University welcomes the Thabo Mbeki Foundation and distinguished guests for a landmark National Dialogue, July 5, 2025.
The CEO of the Thabo Mbeki Foundation, Advocate Max Boqwana has clarified what will happen with the outcomes of the National Dialogue.
He was participating in the National Dialogue Outreach Session at the University of the North West in Porchefstroom earlier on Saturday morning.
The much talked-about National Dialogue meant to discuss the what kind of South Africa we want, will hold its First National Convention on the 15th of August.
This would then be followed by the consultation process with South Africans for almost eight months.
Boqwana says the countrywide consultation process will result in a guide of what South Africa should look like.
“When all the views have been consolidated, it will then be used to develop this National Compact which will be the vision of this SA we want and the National Compact will then be adopted in the Second National Convention and the decision will be either Parliament accepts that National Compact without further ado. But the parties in Parliament might say we are Parliament we are not going to be told by all of you what to do, our determination is that then that National Compact must be taken for a referendum.”
