Three Trucks involved in Serious Crash N3 Pietermaritzburg Bound after Lion Park.
The N3 near Pietermaritzburg off-ramp in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands has been closed to traffic following a multiple-truck collision.
Paramedics say they have treated two drivers, with another still entrapped in the wreckage.
Motorists are urged to use alternative routes as emergency personnel attend to the scene.
Spokesperson from one of the private ambulance services, Garrith Jamieson, says they are on the scene of a serious multiple crash in Pietermaritzburg after Lion Park, before Ashburton and are dealing with multiple trucks that have rear-ended each other.
“A driver of one of the trucks is still trapped, and he’s being set free by the fire department was under the care of paramedics inside the cabin. Two other patients have sustained moderate injuries and are currently being attended to. The entry has been closed in a bit to relieve the traffic, and has been diverted,” says Jamieson.
