The High Court in Bloemfontein has sentenced Bangile Dael to 22 years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to the murder of retired magistrate, Pieter Christiaan Bester.
The court heard that in January last year that Dael killed the Bester at his smallholding in Glen in Bloemfontein.
At the time of the incident, the accused had been employed by Bester for approximately 17 years.
The victim succumbed to severe head injuries sustained during the attack.
Free State NPA spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane says: “Bangile Dael has been sentenced to 22 years direct imprisonment by the High Court of South Africa Free State division that was sitting in Bloemfontein after he pleaded guilty to the charge murder. He is accused of having killed a retired magistrate Pieter Piet Christiaan Bester who was his employer of 17 years.”
