One of the accused in the Limpopo pig farm murders, Zacharia Olivier, has broken down in tears during his bail hearing at the Polokwane Regional Court.
It’s not clear why he started crying.
Magistrate Felleng Ntilane had to briefly adjourn proceedings to allow the accused to recover.
Olivier and his two co-accused, Rudolf de Wet and Zimbabwean national William Musora, are facing charges of attempted murder, murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
This after the remains of Maria Makgato and Kudzai Ndlovu were discovered in a pigsty in August.
Musora is facing an additional charge of contravening the Immigration Act.
Olivier’s bail application has been postponed to February 18 next year due to the unavailability of his advocate to lead the bail application.
Reacting to the news of the murders of the two women, the South African Council of Churches (SACC) in the province said the accused should not be granted bail.
