Mpumalanga woman accused of possessing human tissue granted bail


The 39-year-old woman arrested for the alleged possession of human tissue in Lydenburg, Mpumalanga, has been granted bail of R10 000.

Rose Mnisi appeared in the Mashishing Magistrate’s Court.

Mnisi, who is reported to be working in the Lydenburg Hospital’s maternity ward, was allegedly found in possession of placentas stuffed in a plastic bag a week ago.

She was arrested after police were tipped off about a woman who was looking for a potential buyer of a placenta.

The provincial Health Department intends to suspend the accused following her arrest.
