Tourism authorities in Mpumalanga have expressed satisfaction with the influx of travellers visiting different tourist attraction sites this Easter weekend.
The province is a tourist favourite.
The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency says most of its visitors this year are domestic.
Agency spokesperson Simphiwe Shungube says, “More tourists are still coming to the place of the rising sun. And we are hoping that in the remaining days, before people are going back to work, we will see more of the tourists because the numbers are still increasing. So compared to the previous year, this year we recorded more of the domestic tourists that are coming to the place of the rising sun. It is so exciting and encouraging, which means people are travelling from their provinces to come to Mpumalanga to have a nice time.”
