The crash happened on the N4 Toll Road between Belfast and Wonderfontein.
Seven people have died during a head on collision involving two vehicles on the N4 toll road between Emakhazeni and Wonderfontein in Mpumalanga.
It is alleged that one of the vehicles lost control and veered off its lane to collide with the vehicle on opposite direction.
The spokesperson for the Department of Community, Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, says investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash.
“Earlier indications are one of the sedans seemingly lost control and veered off the road and collided with the other sedan that was travelling in the opposite direction. Five of the deceased were occupants of one of the sedan whilst the other two victims were in the other sedan.”
“The deceased include drivers of both vehicles, one seriously injured occupants in one of the vehicles was rushed to nearby hospital,” explains Mmusi.
