The March and March movement has called on the government to declare a state of emergency in light of the killing of Warrick ‘DJ Warras’ Stock.
The movement says the country’s justice system has failed to protect those who are fighting crime, leaving criminals to operate with impunity.
The movement’s leader, Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, has accused the government of failing to tackle the escalating hijacking of buildings.
“There’s so many laws in our country that are there that are not being enforced in the manner in which they should have been enforced, that protect South Africans from illegal immigrants who are the reason why we are here today. And it’s not because we are sure that someone killed him, but no, because this has created an environment where people from all over are just walking into our country, millions.”
