Gauteng motorists have been urged to exercise caution after persistent rainfall left many roads across the province wet and slippery, increasing the risk of crashes.
Provincial Traffic Police spokesperson Sello Maremane says traffic officers are monitoring conditions and remain on standby to respond to any weather-related emergencies.
“Motorists are advised to maintain a safe following distance. It is also important to drive within the prescribed speed limit. Pedestrians are urged to avoid crossing low-lying bridges as this may be dangerous.”
