Motheo TVET students hail new 4IR centre as a boost for skills

Students at Motheo TVET College in Bloemfontein say the newly launched Fourth Industrial Revolution Centre of Excellence will give them practical experience and boost their confidence.

The centre forms part of a national initiative by the Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority.

The aim is to empower young people with future-ready digital and technical skills while strengthening collaboration between education and industry.

Higher Education and Training Minister Buti Manamela says the centre will play a key role in preparing young people for jobs.

“We feel so happy about it and we think that it’s going to help us gain more experience and I think it will also boost us, boost our confidence about doing this course,” says one of the students.

Another student says, “I believe that we will gain experience for our future careers and I think it will also help us gain more knowledge because we are doing things practically now.”
