South Africa’s Under-20 team, the Amajita, was knocked out of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Chile after losing 3–1 to Colombia in the round of 16 on October 9. They went to Chile with the aim of reaching the knockout stage of the 2025 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
Goalkeeper Fletcher Smythe-Lowe says that although the team couldn’t stamp its authority on the match, there are positives they are taking from the tournament. Coach Raymond Mdaka concurs with Smythe-Lowe. He has also learnt a lot from leading Amajita at the World Cup.
Morocco is the only African nation left in the tournament.
