City of Johannesburg executive mayor, Dada Morero, delivered the State of the City Address under the theme ‘The Jo’burg We All Want’.
As part of the speech, R3 billion was allocated for infrastructure over the medium term.

Morero says the Budget will be channeled towards under-serviced areas such as Diepsloot, Ivory Park, Orange Farm and Soweto.

Meanwhile, during its so-called ‘True State of the City Address’ yesterday, the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Johannesburg called for new leadership in the Metro municipality.

The DA tabled a motion of no confidence against Johannesburg Mayor and City Speaker, Nobuhle Mthembu.

The DA says Morero and his current leadership have failed the people of Johannesburg.

The motion will be heard in the city’s council sitting in two weeks. The motion was submitted a few moments after Morero delivered his state of the city address.
