Mogotsi asked to clarify his response to Mkhwanazi’s July briefing

Madlanga Commissioner Advocate Sesi Baloyi has asked North-West businessman Brown Mogotsi to clarify what he meant when he said that he was expecting General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s July briefing to have a positive outcome.

This after Mogotsi alluded to the fact that he was expecting General Mkhwanazi to resign following the explosive press briefing.

Mogotsi is currently testifying before the Madlanga Commission at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College.

Mogotsi says he first met Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya in August last year.

He says he briefed Sibiya on the irregular R360 million SAPS tender and alleged corruption in Crime Intelligence. The tender was awarded to businessman and crime suspect Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala but was withdrawn after it was flagged for corruption.

Mogotsi is testifying before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria where the evidence leader is Advocate Matthew Chaskalson.

Adv. Chaskalson: And do you introduce yourself as an agent or someone coming off the street to say what?

Mogotsi: No, you do say that I have information that can be of useful and can meet your intervention. It is about the tender in the South African Police Service.
