MKP’s Ndhlela calls for greater accountability in judicial system

uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) MP Nhlamulo Ndhlela has called for greater accountability in South Africa’s judicial system.  He made the statement during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) debate in Parliament.

Addressing President Cyril Ramaphosa, Ndhlela demanded lifestyle audits for judges.

He says transparency cannot stop at politicians and that no “sacred cows” should be exempt from scrutiny.

Ndhlela argues that rooting out corruption requires accountability at every level – executive, legislature and judiciary.

“You speak of accountability, Mr. President, then let us begin at the top of the judiciary. We demand lifestyle orders for judges. Transparency cannot stop at politicians. If corruption is to be uprooted, no sacred cows must remain, not in the executive, not in Parliament, and certainly not in the bench.”
