Zuma-Sambudla in court
Members of the MK Party have arrived at the Durban Magistrate’s Court to attend the appearance of Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, the daughter of former president Jacob Zuma.
Zuma-Sambudla is appearing in court for cases believed to be related to the July 2021 civil unrest.
Members of the MK Party, who are outside court in full party regalia, believe that this is an orchestrated plan to dent the image of the Parliamentarian.
Wesley Douglas is among the MK Party members who have arrived in court to support Zuma-Sambudla.
He says the former president’s daughter didn’t do anything and that this is a plot to silence her.
Douglas elaborates, “We are here to condemn the political motivated persecution of comrade Dudu Zuma-Sambudla, these charges are nothing more than a desperate attempt to silence and intimidate those who challenge the corrupt and failing system. Comrade Zuma has been a fearless voice in exposing hypocrisy and misrule and the betrayal of the revolution by those who have abandoned the revolution. Fighting for the poor and radical economic transformation has made her a target of state machinery.”
Douglas insists they will continue supporting her until she wins the case.
“What we are going to to do, we will come every day to support Dudu, we going to stand by her as an organisation and we will follow all the procedures that we need to follow and we are not going to do something illegal. What we are standing is the principle that we believe of justice and freedom for our people. We are going to support our comrade from the state prosecution, this is a state prosecution. This is wrong and unethical and is immoral and we will back here and we will keep supporting her.”
