Mixed reaction to City Press final print edition

Members of the public have expressed mixed views about City Press completing the move to the digital space.

This after four decades of being a Sunday newspaper in the country.

Management says the move to digital is not just a response to global trends but also a strategic decision to meet readers wherever they are.

The newspaper had its last print edition today.

“I think we are expecting newspapers to be digital because our generation is not buying these papers anymore. The older generation might be disappointed about it but we are always on our phones.”

“The sad part about it is that people will lose their jobs. hopefully companies have plans for those involved in the print era will also need to be accommodated as things move more to the digital space.”
