TV and Radio personality Minenhle ‘Minnie’ Dlamini
Socialite Minenhle ‘Minnie’ Dlamini has agreed to pay back at least R50 000, which she irregularly received from the Mshandukani Non-Profit Organisation in 2016.
The Special Investigating Unit says the agreement comes as part of its investigation into the misappropriation of the National Lotteries Commission grant funding.
SIU spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago says the NPO received R24 million meant for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games from the NLC and Dlamini was among those who received cash.
“SIU investigation revealed that Mshandukani Foundation NPO, acting as a conduct applicant through SASK, received approximately R24.8 million from the NLC. These funds were subsequently distributed to several beneficiaries, including Ms Dlamini, without lawful justification or in contravention of the grant agreement. Ms Dlamini has fully cooperated with the SIU investigation and has acknowledged that the funds were not lawfully due to her.”
