Lightning strikes during a stormy day.
Family and friends are attending a joint memorial service for 27-year-old Koketso Shikwambe and 35-year-old Kenosi Mashishi at a primary school in Moretele in the North West.
They died after lightning struck them at the Dertig Sports Ground at the weekend.
Forty other people were injured and taken to local facilities following the incident, which happened during the Diturupa Festival in Mathibestad.
It was a sombre mood as people gathered at the sports ground for a brief prayer and candlelight vigil.
Family members who lost their loved ones were overcome by grief.
