African National Congress (ANC) members who successfully interdicted the party’s Provincial Conference in the Eastern Cape say that they have been getting threats, following the move.
The disgruntled party members approached the High Court in KuGompo, previously East London, to interdict the conference proceedings, citing irregularities. The ANC was subsequently granted leave to appeal the interdict which will be heard on Saturday morning.

Lwazi Rotya, one of the applicants that interdicted the conference, says it is not their wish to stop conferences or destabilise the ANC.
“Today, at around 11h30- I received a very strange call, which was talking a number of things about what is going to happen to me, threats on my life, and on my family. But having said that, we remain unshaken.”
