Melville, Brixton, Parktown West protest over water outages

Residents of Melville, Brixton and Parktown West in Johannesburg are set to take to the streets again on Saturday morning to protest against the ongoing water supply outages. They say they’ve been without water for over a month despite promises by the City of Johannesburg that the water will be restored.

Residents are once again set to take to the streets to express their frustrations over their water woes. Last week saw residents embarking on two days of protest that prompted reactions from Johannesburg mayor, Dada Morero and Water and Sanitation Minister, Pemmy Majodina. President Cyril Ramaphosa also announced during his State of the Nation Address the establishment of a National Water Crisis Committee, which he will personally chair to deal with the country’s water supply challenges. The protesters are expected to gather at the corner main and 4th Avenue in Melville, in Johannesburg on Saturday
