The twins, joined at the abdomen, were born from a 29-year old woman.

The mother was referred from Maphutha Malatjie hospital outside Phalaborwa after diagnosis was made.

“The twins are successfully delivered and both are currently stable receiving care in the neo-natal intensive care unit at Mankweng hospital initial assessments indicate that the babies are joined at the abdomen. Further evaluations are being done by neurologists and padeatric surgeon to find the anatomy and formulate a comprehensive management,” says he adds.
