Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has arrived in Soshanguve, Pretoria where five patrollers were gunned down and eight others wounded in an informal settlement early Saturday morning.
Police say the members of a Community Policing Forum (CPF) had gathered ahead of their routine patrol when five suspicious-looking men approached them on the streets of Marry Me informal settlement.
An altercation and ultimately a shoot-out ensued between the CPF and the men at around 3am on Saturday morning,
On his X account, Mchunu says, “Six individuals are still hospitalised. We will be going to the crime scene and thereafter, offering our condolences to the affected families.”
