Mchunu only assigned me duties after a year: Boshielo

Deputy Police Minister Dr Polly Boshielo says Acting Minister Firoz Cachalia assigned her responsibilities a week after his appointment. Boshielo says Police Minister Senzo Mchunu did not assign her duties more than a year after his appointment.

Boshielo appeared before Parliament’s Ad hoc committee investigating allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the criminal justice system. KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi made the allegations.

Boshielo, whose peer Cassel Matale shared her sentiments, explains her duties: “So after a week, he called us and allocated us responsibilities for now. I am allocated GBVF (Gender-Based Violence and Femicide) and infrastructure, and everything to do with that. He also allocated to me to deal with the integrated crime and violence strategy.”
