Mchunu fails to present recorded conversations with Mkhwanazi

Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has failed to present a video clip as evidence about some of the issues he disputed on the allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

The minister is giving his testimony on a wide range of allegations made by Mkhwanazi about criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system.

Chairperson of the Ad hoc Committee, Molapi Lekganyane, says after many attempts the committee made to be furnished with the evidence, nothing came forth.

“Honourable minister, when we adjourned on Friday, we agreed that there was an extract that you are going to send us. The extract of that video and the report that I got from our support team is that enquiries were made with your team and up until now, we have not gotten any positive response. So we are going to proceed with today’s activity without that extract,” adds Lekganyane.
