Eastern Cape Division of the High Court Judge President Selby Mbenenge.
The Judicial Conduct Tribunal is expected to see the conclusion of the cross-examination of Eastern Cape Judge President Selby Mbenenge on Thursday.
Mbenenge took the stand from Monday giving his version of events in the landmark sexual harassment probe against him.
The Judge President is accused of alleged sexual harassment by junior Judges’ Secretary Andiswa Mengo.
The cross-examination today is expected to delve into the alleged incident of the 14th or the 15th of November which Mengo testified were the dates that Mbenenge allegedly solicited an act of a sexual nature.
On Wednesday, Mbenenge said when he communicated with Mengo he did so as a social being, not as a senior court official.
He insisted that when he communicated with Mengo, he never imposed his title as Judge President on her.
This is despite Mengo’s testimony that she viewed him as a Judge President and did not know how to respond to his alleged advances.
The hearing begins at 9:00am.
