Former President Thabo Mbeki says the situation in the Middle East has an impact not only on that region but also on many countries.
Mbeki, who celebrated his 83rd birthday, chose to weigh in on the current peace and security challenges around the world.
He has called on the international community not to be silent about the dangerous situation developing in the Middle East.
He also warns that the war in Sudan is the most impactful one on the African continent.

Minister in the Presidency responsible for State Security, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, who was also in attendance, agreed with the former President that it’s important to help Sudan and stop the war that has led to the killing of many Sudanese.
“Some Sudanese are in South Africa to seek advice from Pretoria and eminent South Africans, to ensure that Africa leads efforts to stop fighting in Sudan.”
