NFP’s suspended KZN chairperson, Mbali Shinga
The National Freedom Party’s (NFP) suspended KwaZulu-Natal chairperson Mbali Shinga is set to appear before a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday.
She is accused of defying the party when she voted against the uMkhonto weSizwe Party’s motion of no confidence in Premier Thami Ntuli during a chaotic special sitting last month.
The party had instructed Shinga to support the MK party’s motion along with the EFF.
Her defiant stance led to her three-month suspension pending the disciplinary proceedings.
Shinga could be expelled from the party if she is found guilty of defying it. -Reporting by Zanele Buthelezi
