Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero will launch the new phase of the Rea Vaya service in Alexandra during October Transport Month.
This will expand the city’s bus rapid transit systems to areas in the north of the city including Berea, Yeoville, Alexandra and Sandton.
City of Joburg spokesperson Virgil James says the mayor will be joined by stakeholders in the taxi industry.
“The Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, councillor Dada Morero, will be launching the Rea Vaya interim phase on Tuesday, October 25 as part of the October Transport Month. He will be accompanied by the chairs of several taxi associations who are important city partners, playing a major role in rolling out a world-class transport system for Joburg residents,” adds James. -Reporting by Khensani Chauke
