Some matric learners are optimistic but cautious ahead of Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube’s official announcement of the 2024 matric results this evening.
Some education experts have warned against comparing the class of 2024 to those of previous years, saying that they had different experiences.
The matric class of 2024 is expected to know their fate today.
The Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training, UMALUSI, is expected to pronounce the authenticity of the national senior certificate results today ahead of Gwarube’s announcement.
Individual candidate results will be released tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the National Association School of Governing Bodies in Limpopo has called on parents and the public to rally behind matric learners ahead of the release of the results.
The results will also be published in newspapers.
The association’s convener, Elien Hudson, says the support is crucial for learners who have not performed well.
“Focus on what you can, matric is a marathon, not a race and while you are waiting for your results, review your plans for this year ahead and ensure that you will continue on your chosen path regardless.”
