Deputy President Paul Mashatile is expected to deliver the keynote address at the 2025 Youth Day commemoration at the Rag Farm stadium at the North West University in Potchefstroom. He will do so on behalf of President Cyril Ramaphosa, who is in Canada to attend a G7 summit.
There will also be a career exhibition at the university.
The programme will first kick off at the Promosa Secondary School, where Mashatile and various ministers, including Arts and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie, will hand over a multi-purpose sports facility.
This year’s Youth Day event will be held under the theme “Skills for the Changing World – Empowering Youth for Meaningful Economic Participation”.
Mashatile has called on government entities and strategic partners to accelerate and enhance meaningful interventions in bridging the gap between skills development programmes.
