Members of Parliament are expected to ask him questions related to problems in delivering basic services despite interventions.
The MPs are also likely to want to know if Mashatile thinks the Western Cape offers the best model for municipal governance compared to elsewhere in the country.
Recently, President Cyril Ramaphosa praised non-ANC municipalities for their effectiveness, saying the party-run municipalities should take a leaf from them.
This was based on the audit outcomes from the Auditor-General’s office.
