Deputy President Paul Mashatile has highlighted the importance of young people to the country’s development.
His statement follows the release of results for the 2025 matric results.
The national pass rate stands at 88%, the highest ever achieved in the country.
It is an increase from the previous year’s 87.3%.
Acting Head of Communications in the Office of the Deputy President, Itumeleng Mafatshe says Mashatile has commended matriculants for their resilience.
“The Deputy President commends the matriculants for their resilience, discipline and determination in reaching this important milestone, noting that their achievement represents both personal success and a critical contribution to the country’s future development. In his message, the Deputy President encourages matriculants to take advantage of government-supported opportunities aimed at supporting young people as they transition into higher education, skills development and employment.”
