DP Paul Mashatile
arrives at Shunyi Centre in Beijing
Deputy President Paul Mashatile has addressed the opening ceremony of the China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing.
Mashatile is on a working visit to China.
The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and economic cooperation.
Mashatile says that South Africa is committed to strengthening economic ties with China.
This is a result of the two nations having a mutual desire to diversify and expand trade to create a solid supply chain.
In his opening remarks, Mashatile says that Pretoria will have the chance to diversify exports, whereas Beijing will have the opportunity to further its economic partnerships with the African continent.
He further reiterated the importance of strengthening the two countries’ relationship to ensure that the outcomes of South Africa’s G20 Presidency reflect the shared aspirations of the Global South.
