March to March Movement demands justice for DJ Warras

A group of protesters gathered outside Durban City Hall in KwaZulu-Natal to demand justice for slain media personality Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock.

The 40-year-old Stock was gunned down on Tuesday in the Johannesburg CBD, outside a building where he had been providing security services.

The motive behind his killing is not known at this stage.

Leader of the March to March Movement Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma criticised government for failing to address criminality and hijacked buildings.

Ngobese-Zuma says it is unfortunate that they are addressing hijacked buildings while some NGOs and NPOs are opposing their efforts.

“If you think of the hijacked buildings, there’s 50 000 people living in a building that’s supposed to have 10 000 people. The people that are doing that are trying to maximize profits because they know they’ve got a demand. It’s amazing that we have even NPOs and NGOs that are fighting to keep a building with 50 000 and not evict those people to keep it stable with compliance.”
