Manhunt underway for 10 Pietermaritzburg CIT heist suspects

Police have launched a manhunt for ten suspects linked to a cash-in-transit robbery in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal last night.

The suspects shot and wounded a security guard during the incident which took place on Selby Msimango Road.

The incident attracted scores of curious onlookers who recorded it and posted it on social media.

The suspects scrambled for the cash that was scattered on the road.

Police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says, “It is reported that the suspects accosted a cash in transit vehicle, shot one security guard, and robbed them of their firearms before stealing an undisclosed amount of money.” –  Reporting by Salma Patel
