Manhunt launched after police officer was robbed of service pistol

Limpopo police have launched a manhunt for three armed men after a female officer was robbed of her service pistol in a village outside Lebowakgomo.

She was also locked inside the boot of her car but her colleagues rescued her the following day.

The colleagues had gone to check on the officer after her absence from work when they found her in the boot.

Police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng says, “A massive manhunt has been launched after a police Sergeant was robbed of her service pistol. Police are investigating a house robbery and we’re appealing to anyone with information please contact our the police emergency number.”
