Police in Cape Town have launched a manhunt for unknown gunmen who shot dead a 35-year-old female administrative clerk attached to Kraaifontein South African Police Service (SAPS) near the Gatesville Mosque in Athlone.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie says the shooting occurred yesterday in a nearby parking lot.
He says a 56-year-old woman was also wounded and taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Pojie says preliminary reports indicate that two armed men attacked the women as they exited their vehicle.
Police are investigating cases of murder and attempted murder.
