Manhunt for suspects after mother, son are gunned down in Qwaqwa

Police at Phuthaditjhaba in Qwaqwa in the Free State have made an urgent call on the community to assist in tracing two armed suspects.

This after a 61-year-old woman and her 40-year-old son were shot and killed in their home on Friday.

The suspects fled the scene on foot.

Police Spokesperson, Mmako Mophiring says a mother and her two sons were inside their four-bedroom house when they heard a knock on the door.

Mophiring says two unknown men walked into the house, asking for the woman’s elder son.

She asked why they were looking for him, but they proceeded to his bedroom, and she followed them.

Mophiring says the younger son reportedly heard gunshots and fled the house.

On arrival, police found two bodies in the bedroom with gunshots to their heads.
