A 41-year-old man is expected to appear in the Tonga Magistrate’s Court in Nkomazi, Mpumalanga, for allegedly killing the mother of his two children with an axe.
According to provincial police spokesperson Jabu Ndubane, the incident followed a heated argument between the man and the 31-year-old victim.
Ndubane says, “According to information received, the suspect and the 31-year-old victim were involved in a heated argument. It is alleged that the suspect attacked the woman with an axe, resulting in fatal injuries.”
Ndubane confirmed that police and other relevant stakeholders responded to the scene and that the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident.
“He is expected to appear at Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court facing charges of murder,” Ndubane added.
