President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Vice-Chancellor Prof Tinyiko Maluleke and former politician Roelf Meyer as co-chairs of the upcoming National Dialogue.
Maluleke and Meyer form part of the 31-member Eminent Persons Group, which has been selected to guide and champion the Dialogue.
Former MP Lindiwe Mazibuko and Scientist, Energy-engineering Expert and Entrepreneur Siyabulela Xuza have been appointed as deputy chairs.
Former student activist Nompendulo Mkhatshwa, who currently serves in the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, will serve as the secretary.
The Presidency says the chairpersons, deputy chairpersons and secretary will lead and coordinate the eminent persons group.
Ramaphosa has since expressed his gratitude to them for contributing towards the effective functions of the group.
