The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema responding to inputs from members of the Central Command Team on the political overview on December 6, 2025.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has called for the complete boycott of the G20 in the United States (US) next year, if South Africa is not invited.
US President Donald Trump has announced that he will not invite SA to the G20 in Miami, Florida next year.
This is despite the country being one of the founding members of the G20 meeting.
Malema was addressing the media on the party’s election strategy in Johannesburg on Thursday.
He says South Africans should use this opportunity to unite against what he calls Trump’s fascist stance.
Malema says, “The EFF calls for a boycott of the G20 Miami Florida, if South Africa is not allowed as a founding member as a result of the declaration by Donald Trump. The world has defeated fascism through solidarity, and there is no diplomacy with fascism. We must unite now or perish”.
GENOCIDE CASE
He says the US–SA relation has deteriorated because of the SA’s genocide case against Israel.
SA alleged that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza, contravening the Genocide Convention.
Malema says, “Look the footage that’s being played at the oval office is used to paddle lies about SA, that cannot be used to force us to retreat from our stance. There’s nothing that we are saying that strengthen the case for SA against Trump’s position, which is very clear of isolating it doesn’t matter what you say.”
He adds, “It doesn’t matter, what do you do? The man has taken a decision to go against SA for what the EFF says for the SA position against Israel taking Israeli government to International Court of Justice is that has offended the USA. The relationship of SA with China, Russia and Brazil and India is what has offended the USA. “
