MEC for Economic Development and Tourism Ms. Jesta Sidell.
Former Tourism Deputy Minister Amos Fish Mahlalela is touted to lead the new board of the embattled Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency.
Provincial Economic Development and Tourism MEC Jesta Sidell made the announcement during a media briefing in Mbombela.
The briefing was to outline activities to celebrate Tourism Month and provide an update on preparations for G20 Tourism Working Group and Tourism Ministers Meeting, scheduled for next week.
The term of the MTPA board ended on Sunday. MEC Sidell says Mahlalela possesses the skills to bring stability to the agency
“Mr Fish Mahlalela, whom I want to believe possesses the necessary expertise and experience, looking into his leadership role that he really played, not only in the province of Mpumalanga, but in the national space as well, because he’s been a Deputy Minister for Tourism. Which I want to believe he will be in a position, working with other board members, to stabilise the entity so that it takes its rightful position in implementing its mandate, which is to build the tourism of Mpumalanga.”
