Magashule ready for his day in court in asbestos court case

Former Free State Premier Ace Magashule says he looks forward to the asbestos court case that is scheduled to continue in the Free State High Court.

Magashule’s comments come after the Free State High Court ruled that the extradition of his former PA, Moroadi Cholota, was unlawful.

Cholota was considered a star witness in the asbestos matter.

Magashule and 17 of his co-accused, including businessman Edwin Sodi, have been charged with fraud, corruption, and money laundering in the R255 million asbestos saga.

“I’m looking forward. But I don’t want just a withdrawal here. I want to be acquitted because I have not done anything wrong. If I’m guilty of anything, of corruption, of maladministration, of whatever, of oversight and whatever they charge me with – the public knows me as a corrupt person.”

“So I will still want my day in court so that I take the stand and I expose what has not been exposed until today. My time will come and I’m sure, I hope that NPA will continue with their case.”
