The Presidency has confirmed that the interim report of the Madlanga Commission will not be made public.

Spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says this is because it is an interim report and there is still more evidence that is going to be heard.

Magwenya adds that some witnesses who have already testified before the probe are expected to be called back.

The said interim report is expected to give progress on the work of the Commission which has since heard phase 1 of testimony which comprises of the main allegations as well as parts of phase 2 which comprises of implicated persons giving their version.

He says that the Commission, which is tasked with probing allegations of criminality, political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system, is expected to continue with its work in January next year.
