Madlanga Inquiry is proof of ANC’s fight against corruption: Mbalula

African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General  Fikile Mbalula has described the Madlanga Commission as evidence of the ANC’s fight against corruption and maladministration.

He was speaking at an ANC press briefing at Luthuli House in Johannesburg on Thursday, where he briefed the media on the outcomes of the National Working Committee.

The Commission was established to probe criminality, political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

In the last two weeks, the inquiry has heard explosive evidence from various witnesses who have implicated ANC NEC member and Police Minister Senzo Mchunu in being linked to the criminal underworld.

Mbalula has further reiterated the ANC’s support for the Commission.

“We know that names of individuals may arise in testimony or submissions. We emphasise that all those mentioned will have the right to reply and the opportunity to clear their names in line with our constitutional values of fairness and justice.”
