Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has acknowledged the contribution of Witness D, Marius van der Merwe, to uncovering criminality in the City of Ekurhuleni.
Van der Merwe was gunned down outside his home in Brakpan, east of Johannesburg, on Friday night.
The commission has extended its condolences to the Van der Merwe family.
Van der Merwe had implicated suspended EMPD deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi in a murder following the killing of a man whose body was thrown in a dam.
