Former Acting Deputy Chief Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga
The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry will give an update on its progress in a media briefing in Pretoria on Monday.
Last week, the commission announced that its first public hearings would start on September 17.
The hearings, which were originally scheduled to start on the first of this month, were postponed due to delays in securing essential ICT infrastructure.
In a statement issued on Friday, commission spokesperson Jeremy Michaels confirmed that the Justice and Constitutional Development Department had awarded contracts for the procurement of necessary infrastructure.
Michaels says, “The Commission is pleased that significant progress has been made by the appointed service providers to set up the various services in accordance with our requirements and it’s anticipated that all work in this regard will be finalised in time for the Commission’s hearings to commence without any further delays.”
