Madlanga Commission to hear more City of Tshwane related testimony

The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry is expected to continue with testimony relating to the City of Tshwane this morning.

The City and its Metro Police Department are embroiled in allegations of tender rigging involving a security tender.

The Commission has this week heard testimony from Tshwane Metro Police Department Chief, Yolande Faro and Deputy Police Chief, Sean Bolhuis, who testified about alleged corruption in the municipality.

Allegations of corruption in tender procurement processes have been levelled against the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD).

Evidence before the Madlanga Commission has revealed that suspended Tshwane Chief Financial Officer Gareth Mnisi and suspended Deputy Police Chief Umashi Dlamini were involved in alleged tender rigging.

At the centre of the claims is the security Company Gubis85 Solutions.

It has been revealed that Gubis85 was the most preferred company out of 22 service providers, subsequently receiving the lion’s share of the multimillion-rand security tender at the City of Tshwane.
