Christmas presents.
Love Sport Africa, a Gqeberha-based non-profit organisation, is spreading the festive cheer with its 6th annual Christmas Drive. The organisation, known for empowering women in rugby, is focusing on community upliftment, delivering toys, food parcels, and shoes to disadvantaged areas like Motherwell and New Brighton in the Eastern Cape, this Christmas Day.
Founder of the organisation, Athi Mayinje, says the Christmas Drive has become a highlight on the organisation’s calendar, reminding communities that even in tough times, the spirit of giving and togetherness is alive.
“I think for us, I think we are privileged. Our ancestors and mothers, we have a responsibility to make a difference, hence we are getting informal settlement around the metro to make a difference. People are struggling during this time due unemployment,” says Mayinje.
